Obra Social "la Caixa" presents the exhibition La Pineda Energy. Move to a sustainable future

La Pineda (Vila-seca). Costa Dorada. Josep Poblet, Mayor of Vila-seca, Amparo Martinez, representative of "la Caixa" in Tarragona and Lluís Reverter, general secretary of the Obra Social "la Caixa", present the exhibition Energy: Move to a future sustainable.

Exposure Energy. Move to a Sustainable Future, curated by Daniel Jimenez, can be visited al'envelat in Passeig Pau Casals, s / n La Pineda (Vila-seca), 8 to 29 August 2010.

Today, in a single year, humanity consumes an amount of fossil fuels that nature took a million years to produce. As we come to this great dependency? The current model is sustainable? These are, among others, some of the questions raised by this exhibition proposal. The efficient use of energy resources is one of the most important challenges facing us globally. Energy. Move to a Sustainable Future presents an overview of the energies of the twenty-first century and suggests an immersion in the scientific concept of energy and the history of its consumption by humans.

Visitors can make a double journey, where the scientist explains what and how energy is transformed il'històric, beginning with hunter-gatherer societies and ending now. Thereafter, the exhibition explains how energy consumption has increased over the six historical periods to end the current human technology. At this point detailing the energy used today is'ofereixen tools for visitors to reflect on the actions that should be maintained towards a sustainable future.

The show, step by step
The exhibition is divided into six sections. The first area, a universe of energy, the visitor stands in front of three screens which projected an accelerated process of growth of a flower, the collision of two galaxies and animation of the Earth from space at night when lights are points as energy consumption has been growing since the nineteenth century to today. In this area, visitors will discover that all changes and developments in the matter of the universe depend on the energy exchanges.
